The Power Of Pinterest!

I love looking at doors...all doors....inside and outside; ornate and not; colors; shapes...you name it!  So....I search "doors" in Pinterest and away we go. Picture upon picture. Marvelous sites of all sorts of "doors". So...what shall we do with all these images, you might ask?  Well...look at them!  Seeing is believing.  And what a Mecca for writing!

Here's a few ideas:

1) Have Students write about the scene.... Prompt: What's behind the door?
2) Write about scenery, time and place...history. Great history lesson, to be sure.
3) I enjoy architecture! Have students talk about time, place, shape, size, any and everything about the Architecture!
4) Relate to literature. What other books or images are in the same era...other relatable aspects of the time.
5) What a great look at geography!  Most images point to the region of the world that it's located...Italy, Scotland, and more. Make it a geography project.
6) Free-style. Let the wind take you away...
7) Let Students choose their own images or inspiration to write about...there are endless topics!

Last note...I can get "lost" in Pinterest...This can be good and this can be not-so-good. I can literally spend hours of searching!  My suggestion is to get on task and stay there!

When one door closes...many more are sure to open!  Happy Trails!
