Each year, I create a "Tech Bucket List" for the 4th & 5th Graders. On this list are tech challenges that when complete, get not only everyone's praise and adoration, but also a chance to appear on our morning news program, STEM TV!
Items on the list include creating movies, photo editing, completing all the levels in "Hour of Code", designing buildings, rockets, etc in a CAD program, Stop Motion, digital poems and stories and so much more!
I found that since they've gotten a great deal of practice with the basics when they come into the Lab, that this Bucket List Challenge lets them explore and discover new activities that they may not have had a chance to get into. I also take ideas from them on challenges they would like to try. Amazing what these folks come up with!
Anyway.....Students have fun with it and get a sense of tech independence while doing it!
