A "We" Project is a perfect way to start the new school year! This project not only got us tinkering with a few cool programs like: Lino or Padlet, WeeMee and Supalogo, which are all web based, but it also helped us learn a little something about each other.
Students created an avatar in WeeMee (weemee.com). This is an easy to use program, where you select the gender, hair, clothes, backgrounds and accessories. Then the program walks the user through downloading the avatar to the computer. We put it on the desktop for easy access.
Students then used Supalogo (supalogo.com) to create their name logo. This is another very easy program to use, where the student types in their name and selects color and font. It too walks the user through downloading the final product, which again, we placed on the desktop.
The final step was to add the pictures to the Class Lino (en.linoit.com) or on the Class Padlet (https://padlet.com/) and add a stickie within the program with a few lines of introduction. Once finished, we can add it to our Class webpage for all to see.
Idea: Create another display at the end of the year to see how far we've come as a Class.
Allotted time: 45 minutes
Grade appropriate: 3rd Grade and up
Have fun learning about your Class!
