Comics about Digital Citizenship!

To become a Digital Citizenship Community at our School, it can sometimes be a challenge to find ways to have Students get dialed into this role of theirs!  We start each week in Technology Encore discussing what it takes to be a good Digital Citizen, then this was one of the ways to help them model their role....creating a comic strip!  The parameters for the project were simple:  the overall topic must be about being a good Digital Citizen and the strip could contain tips or a story about how the character is modeling this good behavior.

We used MakeBeliefsComix (www.makebeliefscomix.com) to design our comic strips.  It is an easy to use web-based program where Students can create 2, 3 or 4 pane strips.  There are a large variety of characters to choose from, as well as backgrounds, props, thinking & speaking bubbles.  Once they are finished, printing and saving is a snap!

Other Ideas for Comic Strips:
* Storytelling - any and all subjects!
* Biographies - the character could tell details about a famous person
* PBLs - have the characters in the strip talk about what the PBL was, the materials used and the outcome!
* Characters can describe PBIS behaviors!
* Great for Presentations - Students love showing off their final product!

Happy Creating!
