I'm a huge Legos fan to begin with, but working in this online 3D Legos program is nice...no, really nice! It's a little tricky at first to drag, drop, position and place the various sized bricks, but once you get the swing of it, the ideas for class activities are endless! Build with Legos works best in Chrome (http://tinyurl.com/qggly3r), but students have used other browsers with little to no issues. Colors, bricks shapes & sizes, as well as extra shapes, can all be changed with ease.
With 3rd thru 5th Graders, I've had them design buildings, houses, mansions and more and I encourage them to "kick it up a notch" and add landscaping and extra details to their design. With 1st and 2nd Graders, it's tinker, tinker, tinker and have them create stories and let their imaginations take them away.
Ideas:
- Floor Plans
- Storytelling
- Design rockets
- Ideas are endless
It's all in the way you tinker,
