Thinking Blocks - Math Apps for the Visual Learner!

Thinking Blocks (http://www.mathplayground.com/thinkingblocks.html) by MathPlayGround, are new-to-me Math Apps that are perfect for the visual learner!  Each app, which is not only web based, but comes in iOS and Android versions, clearly maps out and scaffolds addition & subtraction, fractions, multiplication & division and ratio & proportion type math word problems.  It makes it so easy to see how each type of math problem is modeled and then solved.

Thinking Blocks now comes in a version for our 1st & 2nd Grade friends in Thinking Blocks Jr (http://www.mathplayground.com/tb_addition_jr/thinking_blocks_junior.html)

Personally, I like the graphics, the drag & drop feature, the helpful & easy to understand tips for solving and then, at the end, the summary of the process. I also like how you can see your progress.  It's a nice product all the way around!

Teachers can use Thinking Blocks to demonstrate to the whole class, groups can use these apps during Math Centers or Students can use these apps to practice at home.
